How to remove skype ads

This post briefly talks about what I did to remove Skype ads from my Skype IM.

There are 1 place inside of Skype with a checkbox that I like to uncheck so to do that Go to Privacy > Privacy Settings and uncheck the bottom box that says “Allow Microsoft Targeted ads, including use of Skype Profile age and gender”

Then, add the following to your hosts file at: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
You can edit your hosts file with Notepad ++ which is what I did.

This first entry will disable Skype Updates so u can leave this one off the list if you like.

These other entries are just related to advertising.
