The post Guaranteed fun at Blue Lake first appeared on Matt Crawford.]]> I survived my first time at a nudist resort in 2021 called Blue Lake Resort which resides in Erie, Illinois. Blue Lake Resort is a great little community of nudists who I have grown to become friends with during my many travels to this resort in 2021.

The first time I visited the resort they gave me a grand tour on a golf cart and showed me all the different areas of the resort. I felt a bit overdressed during the grand tour since everybody else was nude and I was still clothed at that time.

Once I was dropped back off at my truck I promptly stripped down and I decided to setup a tent and camp there for the weekend where I enjoyed visiting with other nudists. I enjoyed time in the hot tub, hung out around the fire and even took a dip in their pond. Blue Lake is a great place to meet new nudist friends which I did right away!

I continued visiting the resort more in 2021 and some of my friends even joined me at the resort with their camper. I moved onto staying in one of their three apartment style houses they had available before they built their new cabin which I haven’t seen yet in person.

My Review

Finally here is my breakdown review of Blue Lake Resort in Erie, Illinois.

Pros

  • People are super friendly
  • Special activities on certain weekends
  • Hot Tub & Pond
  • Loop trail to walk around
  • Volleyball, Shuffleboard, Horseshoes, Pool Table, Picnic Spots, Petanque
  • Playground for children
  • Tanning area
  • Fridge in the room
  • Tv in the room
  • You can buy ice on site
  • Registered golf carts allowed
  • Bikes allowed
  • Hot Outdoor shower
  • Three Motel Rooms
  • One Cabin
  • Electric/Water Hookups

Cons

  • Little boring if you go by yourself
  • They closed bare buns cafe
  • No stove or microwave in the room I stayed in
  • Cell phone service is spotty
  • Wifi is very limited
  • No swimming pool
  • Limited rooms to rent

If you visit Blue Lake Resort you will want to bring some of the following items:

  • Towels
  • Meals to eat while you are there especially for supper
  • Sunscreen & Bug spray
  • Personal items like soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.

Would I go there again? Yes I plan to visit this resort again in 2024 after it warms up.
